Physio Kühni's practice is large, bright and modern. The practice opened in spring 2022 with four therapy rooms, a training area and a large training room for group courses. As a partner, MEDiDOR oversaw the new furnishings and equipment. We take you on a tour of the premises.
Melanie and Gian-Luca Kühni run the new practice in Gelterkinden. While Melanie Kühni is the head physiotherapist with specialist responsibility, Gian-Luca Kühni takes on the administrative tasks. They wanted to expand their practice premises and therefore decided on a new location. On a total of 150 m2 a modern therapy and training area has been created with the support of MEDiDOR.
The reception and waiting area of the practice
Even in the reception area, the wooden elements create a friendly impression. The reception desk makes the administrative process easier for the practice and provides patients with a pleasant welcome.
The waiting area is also a must. Additional space has been created here to display health products. These are distributed by MEDiDOR and recommended by Physio Kühni. Among other things, you will find training socks, training equipment for at home, tapes and neck pillows in the waiting area at Physio Kühni and in our product range. A seamless transition to the training area
From the reception area, you go directly to the training area. There is not only a large selection of strength and endurance equipment available here, but also various devices and aids for rehabilitation. A wall bars with shoulder rope pull, various balance machines and a clear full-body skeleton immediately catch the eye. The training area now also offers space for medical training therapy (MTT). This allows patients to be supported throughout the entire rehabilitation process.

"It was important to us to make the best possible use of the available space in the training area. We were able to achieve this with equipment that has a dual function. It was also important for us to have all the strength equipment from the same manufacturer. This makes operation and maintenance easier. The equipment has proven its worth. As most of the machines have a dual function, setting them up correctly is a challenge for some patients at first."
A trip to the treatment rooms
Next, we take a look at the treatment rooms. There are four therapy rooms in total. They are equipped with new therapy beds, electrotherapy and ultrasound therapy devices, massage lighting and a Sonos sound system. Melanie Kühni and her team carry out physiotherapy treatments and relaxing massages here.
For Melanie and Gian-Luca Kühni, it was important that the furnishings in the rooms were both functional and visually appealing. Patients should feel at ease. This is achieved, among other things, with a personal fleece that is stored for each person.
A highlight in the treatment room is the Chattanooga Intelect RPW 2 shock wave therapy device. After a personal introduction by the manufacturer, the team was able to test the device for several weeks. Because the team of therapists was already working with Chattanooga electric and ultrasound devices, operation and use was particularly easy right from the start.
After ten months of use, satisfaction is still high, Melanie Kühni assures us. For example, the shock wave therapy device helped to alleviate medial tibial crest syndrome in a young athlete. This often occurs during heavy running and jumping. As a result, the athlete was able to successfully complete his competition season without pain and with a new best performance in the long jump. As many people were not yet familiar with shock wave therapy and how it works, a flyer was produced with the most important information about it. The new treatment offer also had to be made known to the referring doctors first.
The Mobile 2 Combo devices from Chattanooga. This allows ultrasound and electrotherapy to be covered by one device. This saves space and offers a standardized user interface. Another plus point is that four electrodes can be used simultaneously. Although the electrotherapy functions are very extensive, only a few of them are usually used in everyday therapy, says Melanie Kühni. She would like to take a closer look at the range of applications at an internal training course in the near future.
Melanie and Gian-Luca Kühni have opted for the Montane Alps model from Chattanooga. They appreciate that the height can be easily adjusted from all sides. Adjusting the armrests can be a little tricky. It requires a little sensitivity and the right grip. Especially if you haven't adjusted the armrests for a while, it may take a little more pressure. There is positive patient feedback on the tilt function, which relieves pressure on the lumbar spine. The built-in castors also make cleaning the floor particularly easy.
Plenty of space in the training room for group courses
Another highlight is the large training room for group courses. The room offers plenty of space for various courses - from pregnancy fit to back fit and senior fit to Pilates. Suitable equipment is available, which is used differently depending on the course.
The many SISSEL brand products are particularly eye-catching. SISSEL has developed the innovative Spinefitter from its daily work in therapy practices and studios. It is versatile, can stimulate a wide variety of muscle groups and is also suitable for balance exercises. At Physio Kühni, the Spinefitter is used in individual therapy as well as in group training.

In addition, the products must have a long service life and be ready for use. We are very satisfied with the SISSEL aids, although the exercise balls need to be deflated every few months."
We finish our tour back in the entrance area. The new practice is beautiful and bright. The modern and functional practice is also well received by the patients.
