Starting with Class 3B devices, safety goggles with the appropriate wavelength rating are mandatory for in the treatment room—including patients. For Class 4 devices (Lightforce), additional light protection is required in the treatment room, and labeling must comply with NISSG/NISV.
Contraindicated in cases of: direct exposure of the eyes, thyroid gland, and tumors; pregnancy in the abdominal area; areas of skin with sensory disturbances; and active bleeding. In cases of photosensitizers, use only after consulting a physician.
Acute conditions: 3–6 sessions, 2–3 times a week. Chronic conditions: 8–12 sessions, twice a week. Wound healing: daily use is possible, depending on the condition of the wound.
