POWERbreathe Breathing Trainer Plus Blue, medium resistance
The condition of your respiratory muscles affects how well you can breathe. Effective breathing is important for optimal athletic performance and improved fitness. You can achieve this by strengthening your diaphragm through breathing training.
Breathing training with the POWERbreathe Plus with Medium Resistance (MW) makes breathing easier, reduces your oxygen demand during exercise and slows down your heart rate.
POWERbreathe strength training basics - Just as you use weights to strengthen your arm muscles, you train with the POWERbreathe by inhaling against variable resistance to strengthen your breathing muscles. The diaphragm and rib muscles become stronger and more enduring.
Strengthen your diaphragm - Breathing training with the POWERbreathe Plus (MW) focuses on strengthening your diaphragm and not your lungs. This is because your lungs are a pair of spongy, air-filled organs, not muscles, and therefore cannot be strengthened.
Ideal for active people, athletes with moderate to very good fitness - The targeted, isolated training of the inspiratory breathing muscles with the POWERbreathe Plus (MW) increases breathing strength and endurance. Stronger breathing muscles are proven to tire later.
Metaboreflex
When the inspiratory muscles are very tired, signals are sent to the central nervous system of the brain. In response to this warning signal, the brain sends signals to the blood vessels in the legs. The blood vessels constrict and blood circulation is restricted. Leg fatigue is accelerated.
Precautions and contraindications
Training with the POWERbreathe is not recommended for people with a history of spontaneous pneumothorax (lung collapse not caused by a traumatic injury such as a rib fracture), as this could lead to a relapse. After a traumatic pneumothorax and / or rib fracture, the POWERbreathe should only be used after full recovery. If you have any doubts about the suitability of the POWERbreathe or if you have any medical complaints, please consult your doctor. POWERbreathe is not suitable for asthma patients with low symptom awareness and with frequent serious flare-ups. Changes to prescribed medication or prescribed treatment programs should not be made without consulting your doctor. Children under the age of 16 should only use the POWERbreathe under adult supervision. Do not use the POWERbreathe if you have a ruptured eardrum.
Choose a device with a lower resistance range. This is easier to adjust as the steps are smaller from level to level. Example: Endurance athlete, 45 years old, 176 cm tall, weighing 74 kg, trains in the 70 to 85 cm H2O range. Female swimmer, 35 years old, 170 cm tall, weighing 65 kg, trains in the 55 to 70 cm H2O range.
