Buy Shockwave Therapy: Radial & Focused ESWT Devices for & Clinics – Switzerland. Extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) is evidence-based for tendinopathies, plantar fasciitis, calcific tendinitis, heel spurs, and pseudarthrosis. MEDiDOR offers professional devices and accessories—primarily the Chattanooga Intelect RPW and RPW Mobile 2. Consultations in our Zurich showroom, delivery, and training throughout Switzerland.
Radial shock waves (RPW) are generated using a ballistic method. Effective cm : 0–3 cm . Typical indications: trigger points, tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis, superficial tendinopathies. Radial devices cover 70–80% of all clinical indications and are more affordable to purchase.
Focused shock waves are generated electromagnetically, electrohydraulically, or piezoelectrically. Penetration depth of up to 12 cm high energy density. Indications: deep tendinopathies, calcific tendinitis (tendinosis calcarea), pseudarthrosis, impaired bone healing, and myofascial trigger points.
MEDiDOR has been a specialist retailer for therapy devices in Switzerland for over 30 years. More than 2,000 medical practices and clinics rely on our product range.
ESWT has been shown to be effective, based on evidence, in:
The Chattanooga Intelect RPW 2 and RPW Mobile 2 are well-established radial shockwave devices available with various applicators (R15, D20-S, D-Actor) for indications. The Mobile version is ideal for use and home visits.
Accessories: D-Actor applicators, V-ACTOR vibration attachments, inspection kits with replacement projectiles and seal kits, transmitters in various diameters.
Standard protocol: 3–6 sessions spaced 5–7 days apart. For chronic conditions, up to 10 sessions may be recommended. Initial results are often noticeable after 3–4 sessions, with full results typically achieved after 8–12 weeks.
In Switzerland, ESWT is covered by basic health insurance (KVG) for certain conditions (e.g., calcific tendinitis). For other conditions, the procedure is billed through supplemental insurance or as a self-pay service. Please verify coverage on a case-by-case basis.
The mechanical handpieces (projectile, seals, guide tube) are wear parts and must be serviced every 1–3 million pulses, depending on frequency of use. Service kits are available directly from MEDiDOR.
Radial shockwave devices start at around CHF 4,000 and can cost up to CHF 15,000 for multifunctional systems. Focused devices start at CHF 12,000 and can cost CHF 25,000 or more, depending on the features.
Ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves (1–3 MHz) to provide deep heating and micro-massage. Shock waves are short, high-energy pressure pulses that trigger mechanical stimuli at the cellular and tissue levels. The two methods complement each other well and are often used in combination.
Not sure whether a radial or focused shockwave device is the better choice for practice? Our team will be happy to advise you in person at our Zurich showroom or over the phone. We offer delivery, setup, and training throughout Switzerland.
