Medical practices often prefer elevation cushions for and washable covers that can be quickly disinfected between patients. In hospitals, there is a demand for modular systems that can be adapted to different treatments.

Paper roll holders differ mainly in how they are mounted: clamp-on holders for , built-in systems for new installations, and mobile models for use. Standard paper rolls are 50 cm and 50 meters long—one roll is enough for 25–30 patients under normal usage.

There are three basic types of headrests: fixed cushions for , adjustable models with height and angle adjustments for therapy, and special designs such as those with face holes for .
