Why accessories aren't optional for walking aids

Walking aids can often become a tripping hazard themselves—if the rubber tips are worn down, the ice spikes are missing, or the handle causes pressure sores. The right accessories help prevent falls and improve compliance.

Ice Peak (Sahag, five-pointed)

A simple rubber tip can be dangerous on ice and snow. The five-pronged Sahag ice tip distributes weight across five metal prongs, effectively preventing slipping. Fits most standard crutch and cane tips (2 cm ). Recommendation: When dispensing walking aids in the fall, always mention the ice tip.

Grip padding (Sahag Neotex)

People who use crutches for long periods of time develop pressure sores on the forearm and the handle. The Neotex handle pad simply slips over the forearm, cushions pressure, and improves grip. Especially helpful for: long-term users, people with sensitive skin, areas with scars, and elderly patients.

Crutch and Cane Stand (Ossenberg)

Allows for the simultaneous storage of 1–4 walking aids. Ideal for waiting areas, changing rooms, and reception areas.
