Developed with Blossom Crawford of Bridge Pilates, the Slice is an excellent, versatile positioning tool that you can incorporate into your daily practice. Often when the parallel foot position is required in an exercise, the heels and toes are brought together, resulting in a rotation of the knees. What may look like a parallel position is not. When you place the slice between the feet, the heels remain separated and do not rest against each other. This allows for a true parallel position of the legs and proper recruitment of support muscles throughout the body to maintain the intended position. For individuals with a twist of the ribs or trunk, the slice also promotes symmetrical alignment of both the ribs and hips while exercising in a prone position.
