SURE FOOT Equine Pads Hard

SURE FOOT Equine Balance Pads are intended for use in the patented SURE FOOT Equine Stability Program® developed by Wendy Murdoch.

This program is a progressive system in which the horse is gradually exposed to various unstable surfaces. SURE FOOT pads are designed to support function and mobility and improve posture and proprioception.

Hard pads provide a supportive surface that yields to hoof warmth and pressure but does not allow lateral movement. They enable the horse to focus specifically on its proprioception and body awareness.

With increased awareness for and weight distribution, horses become more relaxed and confident. The combination of stability and responsiveness makes Hard Pads an excellent choice for new to SURE FOOT.

SURE FOOT Equine Physiopad Full

SURE FOOT Equine Balance Pads are intended for in the patented SURE FOOT Equine Stability Program® developed by Wendy Murdoch. This program is a progressive system in which the horse is gradually introduced to various unstable surfaces. SURE FOOT pads are designed to support function and mobility and improve posture and proprioception.

The Full Physiopad offers two very different surfaces in one pad:

  • The hard side slowly gives way and provides stable, ground-like feedback.
  • The medium side is softer than the hard side, but less springy than the classic medium pad – ideal for without compromising balance.

Originally developed as a farrier pad, it was designed to enable horses to stand calmly and comfortably during hoof care or shoeing. The Full Physiopad has since become very popular with rehabilitation therapists, who use it before, during, and after treatments.

Horses can stand on the pad with one or two hooves (both front or both rear hooves). Due to its larger dimensions and high stability, the Full Physiopad is also ideal for overcoming problems at the mounting block by teaching the horse to stand still.

The Half Physiopad offers two very different surfaces in one pad:

  • The hard side slowly gives way and provides stable, ground-like feedback.
  • The medium side is softer than the hard side, but less springy than the classic medium pad – ideal for without compromising balance.

This pad is not designed to destabilize the horse. Instead, it offers comfort, relief, and calm, making it ideal as a starter pad for and users who are new to SURE FOOT. With its half length compared to the Full Physiopad and travel-friendly design, it is the perfect companion for , tournaments, and transport in trailers.

SURE FOOT Equine Pads Soft

SURE FOOT Equine Balance Pads are intended for in the patented SURE FOOT Equine Stability Program® developed by Wendy Murdoch. This program is a progressive system in which the horse is gradually introduced to various unstable surfaces. SURE FOOT pads are designed to support function and mobility and improve posture and proprioception.

Soft pads are the most comfortable option in the SURE FOOT product line and offer the greatest degree of flexibility for that are ready for balance training. They compress quickly under load and allow gentle lateral movement, causing the horse to "sink in" and encouraging relaxation—similar to the feeling of slipping into slippers. Soft pads are best used after the horse has already developed confidence and trust on hard or firm pads. With veterinary approval, they can also provide support for sensitive hooves or joints. However, they are not recommended for soft tissue injuries.

SURE FOOT Equine Pads Medium

SURE FOOT Equine Balance Pads are intended for in the patented SURE FOOT Equine Stability Program® developed by Wendy Murdoch. This program is a progressive system in which the horse is gradually introduced to various unstable surfaces. SURE FOOT pads are designed to support function and mobility and improve posture and proprioception.

Medium pads are the most springy of all SURE FOOT pads. Riders often describe them as their personal favorite pads to stand on due to their lively rebound behavior. for , it is precisely this elasticity that makes medium pads ideal for areas of application:

  • Promoting more elastic, expressive movement in horses that tend to move flat

  • Increased challenge and variety for that already have experience with hard or firm pads

  • Combine with other SURE FOOT pads to provide a wide range of balance and sensory stimuli.

Due to their strong spring effect, medium pads are not recommended as starter pads. Horses that are not yet accustomed to the stability of hard or firm pads may find them too unstable or unsettling at first.

SURE FOOT Equine Slants Firm

SURE FOOT Equine Balance Pads are intended for in the patented SURE FOOT Equine Stability Program® developed by Wendy Murdoch. This program is a progressive system in which the horse is gradually introduced to various unstable surfaces. SURE FOOT pads are designed to support function and mobility and improve posture and proprioception.

Firm Slants are made from the same material as Firm Pads, but are cut at an angle of three inches. They should be used with the colored side facing up. Compared to Hard Slants, Firm Slants yield more under the weight of the horse. This is beneficial for horses because Firm Slants—depending on where the hoof is positioned on the slant—also yield laterally, similar to Firm Pads.

Although many horses prefer slants positioned with raised heels (heel-high), they can also be used with lowered heels (heel-low) or raised sideways (side-high) – both under the front and rear hooves. In addition, they can even be stacked on top of each other for added challenge.

SURE FOOT Equine Pads Firm

SURE FOOT Equine Balance Pads are intended for in the patented SURE FOOT Equine Stability Program® developed by Wendy Murdoch. This program is a progressive system in which the horse is gradually introduced to various unstable surfaces. SURE FOOT pads are designed to support function and mobility and improve posture and proprioception.

Firm pads are the next level of difficulty in the SURE FOOT program after hard pads, but can also be chosen as a starting point for calm, confident horses that accept new stimuli without any problems. They offer a versatile middle ground—more yielding than Hard Pads, but less challenging than Medium or Soft Pads. Hard Pads are recommended for weighing over 1,800 lbs (820 kg), as Firm Pads can compress too much below this weight.

SURE FOOT Equine Slants Hard

SURE FOOT Equine Balance Pads are intended for in the patented SURE FOOT Equine Stability Program® developed by Wendy Murdoch. This program is a progressive system in which the horse is gradually introduced to various unstable surfaces. SURE FOOT pads are designed to support function and mobility and improve posture and proprioception.

Hard Slants are made from the same material as Hard Pads, but are cut at a three-inch angle. They should be used with the colored side facing up. Although they adapt slightly under the heat and pressure of the hoof, they do not give way laterally, so the angle remains constant even under the weight of the horse.

Many horses prefer the slants to be positioned with raised heels (heel-high), but they can also be used with lowered heels (heel-low) or raised at the sides (side-high) – both under the front and rear hooves. Horses can stand anywhere on the slant, from the thin front edge to the full height. This makes Hard Slants particularly suitable for or insecure horses, as they can start with a very gentle introduction on the thin edge.
